She was born in Istanbul in 1991. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Urban Planning Master’s Program. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved in solidarity networks, professional chambers, and active roles in community involvement activities. She served on the secretariat team of the Chamber of Urban Planners for about four years. She involved in urban transformation and displacement, slums, gentrification, discrimination, marginalisation, migration and environment conservation. While writing her master’s thesis on the access of Syrian refugees to urban services within the framework of urban rights, she moved to Izmir at the end of 2018. When her path crossed with the Nature Association, she started discovering the relationship of human nature with the environment. She ran a nature conservation project. She is still a member of the Nature Association and volunteers in various right-based organisations. She is a member of Izmir Solidarity Academy. She is interested in contemporary dance and Latin dances.
He was born in Antalya in 1968. He graduated from Bursa Işıklar Military High School. He left the Gülhane Military Medical Academy and attended Ankara University Faculty of Medicine for a year. He entered the Faculty of Political Sciences of the same university and graduated from the Department of Economics in 1998. In the same year, he started to work as a research assistant at the Economics Department of Dokuz Eylül University. He completed his master’s and doctorate degrees at this university. He was suspended from the university in 2017 for being a Peace Petition signatory and was dismissed from public service in 2018, of which the legal process is still ongoing. Following his dismissal from public service, he ran a canteen, worked as a translator, prepared a strategic plan and eventually participated in this project. While at the academy, he was specialised in macroeconomic issues such as large-scale general equilibrium models, inflation, and instability. After the dismissal from the university, he started to deal with micro issues such as budget rights, participation in local governments, urban poverty, corruption and crime.
He graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law in 2006. Between 2006 and 2017, he worked as a lawyer in various law offices and private companies in Istanbul. He worked in the fields of human rights law, labour law, corporate law and telecommunication regulation. He has been working as a self-employed lawyer in Izmir since 2017. He was the Human Rights Centre Coordinator and Executive Board Member in Izmir Bar Association. He worked as a bar association representative in the İzmir Governorship Provincial Human Rights Board. He took part in the International Aegean School of Human Rights organisational team and the Izmir Capital of Human Rights vision document implementing team. He completed the training of trainers delivered by the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey and by the Izmir Bar Association on the Istanbul Protocol to qualify as a trainer, and he took place within the educational team. He still works on citizens’ access to urban justice, public law education and the right to the city.
He completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University, Faculty of Law in 2011, and his master’s degree in International Law at Atılım University in 2015. He still continues his doctorate education at SOAS University of London Law School. He worked as a lawyer, academician and consultant in international organisations for more than nine years.
